The Officers stopped plaintiff to grab, assault, batter, frisk, and ultimately arrest him. They had no probable cause or reasonable suspicion that plaintiff had engaged in any criminal activity. The officers then placed plaintiff in excessively tight handcuffs resulting in his wrists swelling and bruising. Plaintiff repeatedly asked the officers to loosen the cuffs, but they ignored him, and brought him to the precinct. Once there, the officers subjected plaintiff to a purposely humiliating strip search (instructing him to squat while nude to expose his anus and cough). The search revealed nothing. The officers eventually brought plaintiff to central booking where he spent two days in a prison cell described as \"disgusting\" before his release. All charges against plaintiff arising from this arrest were ultimately dropped and sealed. Plaintiff suffers from emotional trauma as a result; struggled to leave his home; fears police officers.","documents":[{"url":"https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=ofrUGC6mWXQUDRAjG_PLUS_Pwzg==","type":"complaint"}]},{"name":"Hamilton, Davon vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2023-04-20","payout_amount":0,"disposition":"","docket":"806176/2023","court":"Supreme Court - Bronx","officer_name":"Rodriguez, Angel","summary":"On October 9, 2020, when plaintiff was walking on a street, police officers Angel Rodriguez (Sheild No. 1490), Joseph Rivera (Sheild No. 4639), and other police officers approached, stopped, searched, seized, detained, and arrested plaintiff. Accordingly, plaintiff stopped and put his hands above his head. Det. Rodriguez (Defendant) then pushed plaintiff against a car, and forced him to the ground before handcuffed. Defendant searched plaintiff without his consent and without any legitimate legal basis to do so. Nicole was sleeping over because she was dating Laman, and Glenisha was spending the night with her boyfriend Steven. At about 4 AM, someone began to bang loudly on the apartment door. Steven got out of bed and opened the bedroom door, and he saw that the front door had been knocked down an that ~10 officers had entered with assault rifles and helmet, charging in with their weapons drawn. Pointing their guns at Steven, they screamed, \"On the floor or we'll shoot you.\" Steven complied and got on the floor. They entered Lamans room, where Laman and Nicole were naked in bed. The police ordered them out of bed and handcuffed Laman. An officer ordered Nicole to put her hands up, despite the fact that she was naked. Nicole was made to stand naked beside the bed for approximately 10 minutes, until she was allowed to put clothes on. She was then handcuffed. Nicole was terrified and asked why the police were there. From Laman's room, police recovered a desktop, monitor, two printers (one of which printed ID cards), a credit card skimmer, blank checks, and ID card stock. When the police asked if there was any other contraband in the apartment, Laman said there was a gun in the closet. The gun was hidden in a box and it was not possible to tell a gun was inside without looking within.\n\nAt this point, Laman told the officers that all the contraband was his and his alone, and he said this repeatedly. Despite Laman's statements, the police arrested plaintiffs Glenisha, Nicole, and Steven. The 3 of them were kept in custody for approximately 41 hours before the Bronx DA's office formally declined to prosecute them. While Steven was being held, his handcuffs were too tight, and when he asked them to loosen them, the officer said they didn't have the keys. He had pain in his wrists for the next three days after release.","documents":[{"url":"https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nysd.445969/gov.uscourts.nysd.445969.2.0.pdf","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/4523221/thompson-v-city-of-new-york/"},{"name":"Cornwell, Terrell vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2015-04-22","disposition_date":"2015-09-25","payout_amount":17500,"disposition":"Settlement","docket":"301652/2015","court":"Supreme Court - Bronx","officer_name":"Rodriguez, Angel I."},{"name":"Jones, Kevin S. vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2014-02-04","payout_amount":0,"disposition":"","docket":"300293/2014","court":"Supreme Court - Bronx","officer_name":"Rodriguez, Angel I."},{"name":"Guzman, Steven vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2013-12-13","disposition_date":"2014-10-16","payout_amount":51000,"disposition":"Settlement","docket":"307212/2013","court":"Supreme Court - Bronx","officer_name":"Rodriguez, Angel I."},{"officer_name":"Rodriguez, Angel I.","disposition":"Settlement","start_date":"2011-07-05","disposition_date":"2016-04-27","court":"Supreme Court - Bronx","docket":"305793/2011","name":"Galloway, Kenneth, et Al vs City of New York, et al.","payout_amount":3000000}],"image":"https://www.50-a.org/images/officer/TZ8R-angel-rodriguez.jpg","payroll":{"salary":"119980","regular":"73900","overtime":"0","other":"13245","total":"87145"},"id":"TZ8R","url":"https://www.50-a.org/officer/TZ8R"}
