Defendants knew or should\nhave known Plaintiff resided there because NYPD had been to the location before, and checked Plaintiff’s ID and verified his residence there. When Plaintiff began to protest that he had lived there and that he had even verified his address to police, he was assaulted, battered and punched about the body, back and stomach and\nwas further slammed into an open elevator causing a contusion to Plaintiff’s right shoulder. Defendants conducted an illegal search of Plaintiff’s person by rifling through his pockets and patting him down all over. Defendants violently contorted\nPlaintiff’s arms behind his back in order to handcuff him. Plaintiff repeatedly requested that Defendants loosen the handcuffs, because they were causing him substantial pain and discomfort due to their excessive tightness. Defendants ignored all of Plaintiff’s pleas to loosen the handcuffs, and Defendants sadistically and intentionally squeezed the handcuffs with Plaintiff’s wrists within in order to inflict wanton and unnecessary pain to Plaintiff. This resulted in Plaintiff’s wrists sustaining contusions, swelling, and loss of feeling. Plaintiff was illegally targeted, because of his race, religion, national origin or other improper characteristic for adverse police action, by Defendants. Plaintiff’s charges were dismissed.","documents":[{"url":"https://web.archive.org/web/20240703023355/https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=ypg_PLUS_ibTbeMfqGpouCFpNLA==","type":"complaint"}]},{"name":"Samuels, Hezie vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2017-10-31","payout_amount":0,"disposition":"","docket":"030014/2017E","court":"Supreme Court - Bronx","officer_name":"Rodriguez, Eddie","summary":"On October 25, 2016, Defendants wrongfully touched, grabbed, handcuffed, and seized the Plaintiff in an excessive manner causing him physical pain and mental suffering.
