Defendants had handguns drawn and pointed at the Plaintiffs and then proceeded to violently grab their arms behind their backs and excessively tighten and apply metal handcuffs to their wrists despite having no probable cause or reasonable suspicion to do such. Defendants then forcefully struck Plaintiff Alexander McBride with flashlights, sticks, or other blunt objects to his lower back and threw him on the floor, causing him severe hematomas on the lower right side low of his back and buttocks as well as muscle spasms. Defendants then falsely imprisoned Plaintiff Katrina McBride and took her to a neighbor's house. Defendants took Plaintiff Alexander McBride against his will to an NYPD precinct, where they subjected him to various mistreatments such as fingerprinting, photographing, and a search despite having no probable cause or legal reason to search, seize, question, arrest, or charge him with a crime. Defendants then fabricated evidence against Plaintiff Alexander McBride to the District Attorney's office, causing him to be maliciously prosecuted and charged with Criminal Sale of Marijuana and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.\n\n Defendants detained Plaintiff Alexander McBridge for 14 hours and later released him. His criminal charges were dismissed on August 13th, 2019. Plaintiff Katrina McBride was detained for one hour and Plaintiff Keescha Miller was detained five hours respectively. However, neither Plaintiff Katrina McBride nor Plainitff Keescha Miller were ultimately charged with a crime. Defendants further acted in bad faith by  destroying, concealing, sabatoging, and suppressing evidence such as their bodycam recordings, which could have aided in clearing the allegations made against the Plaintiffs. All Plaintiffs ultimately believe they were targeted because they were Black or African-Americans.
