Mr. Harvey, in fear due to past police interactions, attempted to flee the scene. The defendant police officers Jason Schrechenstein (shield # 1340) assigned to the 71st precinct, Frank Beers (shield #17641) assigned to the 71st precinct, gave chase, threatening Mr. Harvey with lethal force if he moved. Mr. Harvey was falsely arrested and processed at the 71st precinct, where he was interrogated for approximately 20 minutes. While Mr. Harvey was in custody, The defendant police officers provided the Kings County District Attorney with false and misleading information, which led to Mr. Harvey being charged with illegal possession of a firearm. Subsequently, Mr. Harvey was remanded to the Manhattan Detention Complex where he remained for four days.
