Plaintiff's girlfriend was shot in in the thigh at the incident. Plaintiff was accused of shooting defendant Ling during the incident - which Plaintiff alleges did not occur. Plaintiff was branded a cop shooter by NYPD officials after this, despite never being arrested for this incident and was subject to over 20 years of harassment by the NYPD and ADA. Plaintiff was harassed and accused of multiple murders he did not commit, resulting in multiple lengthy stays at Riker's for crimes he did not commit. On February 2, 2000 Pearson surrendered to the police and was charged with killing his best friend in 1997 - a crime he did not commit. NYPD then formed a conspiracy to try and get Plaintiff convicted. This included coercing false testimony out of a witness to say that he saw Plaintiff kill his friend. Pearson was subject to cruel and inhumane treatment at Rikers for the over two years he was originally held there because he had been falsely indicted by ADA Scaccia, Detectives Tracy and Dodd and other NYPD and Bronx DA employees. A mistrial was declared On February 1, 2002 after jury voted 11-1 to acquit plaintiff. The juror who voted against plaintiff was bribed by ADA Scaccia with city housing vouchers to secure the vote. Then, after NYPD and ADA Scaccia was unsuccessful, they brought another charge for allegedly killing another person - ADA Scaccia was unsuccessful and he was acquitted in May 2003 and then released from Prison in June 2003. In March 2019, Plaintiff was arrested in Florida for allegedly killing Officer Ling - despite Officer Ling being alive. Plaintiff was then extradited to New York in July 2020 and was falsely imprisoned again at Rikers for the alleged first murder of his friend.
