After being told everything was okay, Officer Mehirdel shouted at Gonsalves to come over and produce identification. While Gonsalves was removing his identification from his wallet, Officer Mehirdel threw Gonsalves up against his personal vehicle, and was joined by Officer Lee. The Officers subsequently threw Gonsalves to the roadway. When Rizk asked the Officers to stop, Officer Mehirdel violently pushed Rizk away, then pushed her against Gonsalves' vehicle and thrusted his body onto Rizk's exposed backside while pushing her head forward. Officer Mehirdel handcuffed Rizk and put her in the back of a police vehicle, then threw her to the ground one more time before putting her back in the vehicle and taking her to the precinct.\nAt the precinct, Rizk was constantly degraded, with one Officer (believed to be Officer George Howley) stating she did not look like a lawyer and questioning her ethnicity, as well as dismissing her injuries because she was a \"big girl.\" Another Officer sang degrading rap lyrics while walking past her holding cell. Additionally, on at least one occasion she was forced to use the toilet while a male officer was watching her through a glass mirror. Rizk was denied a phone call for several hours. Defendants conspired together to falsify Police Reports and arrest paperwork, and Officer Mehirdel committed perjury in an affidavit supporting criminal complaints against the Plaintiffs. The Plaintiffs were processed, arraigned, and released after being detained at the precinct for nine hours.","documents":[{"url":"https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nyed.362520/gov.uscourts.nyed.362520.1.0.pdf","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/5692542/rizk-v-city-of-new-york/"}],"documents":[{"url":"https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/21026427-mehirdel-09915f370f90af7279cd498517eb910be6d4cf50","type":"brady-giglio"},{"url":"https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/21066602-mehirdel-950309-03-01-21","type":"brady-giglio"}],"id":"VKWM","url":"https://www.50-a.org/officer/VKWM"}
