Following the stop based on the pretext that the vehicle had been traveling at a high rate of speed, the Audi was approached by NYPD officers Jorge Sanabria (Shield #27752), Nelson Reyes (Shield #27566), and Detective Walton Richardson (Shield #06037) who asked the occupants if they had been smoking or were in possession of marijuana. All occupants answered in the negative. The officers then told the Audi occupants to remain where they were and returned to their police vehicle. At that time, Robinson, fearing for his safety, attempted to flee. Following a brief chase, Robinson surrendered before being apprehended and was placed in excessively tight handcuffs. Thereafter, Officer Sanabria then falsely claimed that he had observed Robinson carrying a firearm and subsequently testified as such before a Grand Jury. However, during a subsequent Mapp hearing, the Honorable Ruth Shillingford criticized Sanabria's testimony stating that it was \"diametrically opposed to that which he presented to the Grand Jury\" and ruled that Sanabria's testimony was not credible and suppressed the gun allegedly recovered from Robinson. Robinson spent 90 days in jail and made multiple court appearances before all charges against him were dropped on April 6, 2017.","documents":[{"url":"https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=MCUJq/VziitLrvyh_PLUS_YR1PQ==","type":"complaint"}]},{"officer_name":"Reyes, Nelson","disposition":"Settlement","start_date":"2017-05-22","disposition_date":"2018-10-26","court":"Civil Court - Kings","docket":"009915/2017","name":"Tie Cab Corp. vs City of New York, et al.","payout_amount":12000},{"name":"Bostic, Jaiquan, et al. vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2016-09-23","disposition_date":"2018-07-17","payout_amount":30000,"disposition":"Settlement","docket":"16CV03737","court":"U.S. District Court - Eastern District NY","officer_name":"Reyes, Nelson","summary":"The plaintiffs were enjoying a 4th of July barbecue, when defendant officers approached and began harassing plaintiffs.
