Plaintiff opened the door and the officers proceeded to unlawfully handcuff and falsely arrest plaintiff, without probable cause or legal justification. Other defendant police officers also included DETECTIVE RYAN OLSEN, Shield No. 5992, DETECTIVE ARGELIS RODRIGUEZ, SERGEANT DANIEL BRENNAN, Shield No. 175, DETECTIVE TOMAS REYES, Shield No. 377,and Defendants New York City Police Officers John Does #s 1-10. \n\nThe officers then proceeded to unlawfully enter and conduct an unlawful search of plaintiff's room, without consent, a warrant, or any legal justification. At no time did plaintiff commit a crime or violate the law. Nevertheless, the officers falsely arrested plaintiff for involvement in a shooting that allegedly occurred in June 2020 in Brooklyn, New York. The officers transported plaintiff against his will to the 90th precinct where he was unlawfully searched, fingerprinted, photographed, interrogated, and detained in a filthy holding cell for many hours. The officers provided the Kings County District. Attorney's Office with false, misleading, and incomplete evidence to purportedly justify why they arrested plaintiff and charged him with committing crimes. Plaintiff was transported to Kings County Central booking whereas the unlawful detention continued until he was arraigned in Kings\nCounty Criminal court approximately 24 hours after he was initially arrested. Plaintiff was charged with crimes he did not commit and that the police officers lacked probable cause to accuse him of committing, including but not limited to Attempted Murder, Assault and Criminal Possession of a Weapon. The court set bail at arraignment and plaintiff was unable to post bail. Therefore, plaintiff was remanded into New York City Department of Corrections custody and detained at the Manhattan Detention Center and on Riker’s Island. Plaintiff was housed in an area where there were no correction officers present and he was stabbed in the head by another prisoner. Plaintiff was released from custody on his own recognizance on or about May 5, 2022.
