Defendants told plaintiff they would throw him to the ground and search him if he did not cooperate. Plaintiff spread his arms and legs so defendants could frisk and search him and said, \"go ahead and do what you need to do. Do you want to see my ID?\" One defendant tackled plaintiff in a rough manner and threw him face-first onto the ground. Defendants handcuffed plaintiff excessively tightly. A defendant grabbed the back of plaintiff's head, slammed his face into the pavement multiple times, and told him to \"shut the fuck up\". Defendants sprayed plaintiff in the eyes and mouth with a chemical substance believed to be Mace. Five additional defendants arrived at the scene. Plaintiff tried to tell the five defendants the two defendants beat him up. Defendants surrounded plaintiff and one kicked him in the right side of the face. Plaintiff was transported by EMS to Harlem Hospital Center, where he was treated for severe injuries to his body. On September 22, 2012, plaintiff was discharged from the hospital to the custody of defendants, who transported him to the 25th precinct. After many hours in a holding cell, plaintiff was transported to Manhattan Central Booking. Plaintiff was arraigned and the judge set bail at $1,500, which plaintiff could not post, so he was remanded to the custody of the DoC. Plaintiff Maynard, after finding out what happened at the baby shower, arrived at the precinct, where he observed one his friends, who was handcuffed and already bleeding, being beaten by the defendant officers. When Plaintiff Maynard asked why they were being beaten, the defendant officers threw him to the ground and began kicking, beating and punching his upper body with fists and a baton. The defendant officers informed the District Attorney they had observed Plaintiff Carrasco engaged in criminal activity and prepared false paperwork, including a false arrest report. Plaintiff Carrasco was in custody for 24 hours and later given an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal.
