Plaintiff was unlawfully interrogated without access to counsel or Miranda warnings; the interrogation included his political activities. While in custody, he asked for medical attention for his baton injuries, and Defendant Officer Auguste told him it would be a \"long night\" if he got medical care; this statement deterred Plaintiff from seeking medical attention (and thereby denied him care). Plaintiff was released with a summons two hours after his initial interactions with the police. While Plaintiff was held at Central Booking, the District Attorney declined to prosecute the charges and Plaintiff was released after being in custody for a substantial portion of the day.
