The defendant officers informed Mr. Bangiyev that he was being placed under arrest for allegedly violating an order of protection. However, prior to placing Mr. Bangiyev under arrest, the defendant officers had learned that the aforementioned order of protection was no longer in effect. Defendant Officer Asadi nevertheless arrested Mr. Bangiyev, placing him in tight handcuffs. The defendant officers then transported Mr. Bangiyev to the precinct, where he was confined in a cell. \n\nAfter being arraigned on charges of criminal contempt, Mr. Bangiyev was forced to appear in Court on four separate occasions, despite there being no evidence to support the charges against him.
