Defendants approached Plaintiff's vehicle and ordered him to step out of his vehicle without any legal basis or justification for doing so.  Defendants proceeded to illegally search Plaintiff's person and vehicle. Defendants then falsely claimed that an illicit air pistol was recovered by Defendant Bonifacio from within a backpack behind the driver's seat of Plaintiff's vehicle that resembled a real firearm; however, this item was not illegal in any way. However, defendants claimed that Plaintiff had sold and offered to sell an imitation, that the air pistol did not have the manufacturer's name or brand stamped on the barrel, and that the pistol had a laser pointer attached to it. This ultimately led to the arrest of Plaintiff for possession of a legal item based on fabricated observations and claims. Defendants applied handcuffs to Plaintiff in an excessively forceful and tight fashion. upon arriving at the precinct, Defendants conducted or authorized an illegal strip search and cavity inspection of Plaintiff. Defendant Bonifacio signed the accusatory instrument, and Defendants all gave knowingly and intentionally false, misleading, or incomplete information to the DA's office that Plaintiff was in possession of an illicit air pistol that duplicated a real firearm.
