One of those friends was in possession of narcotics.  Plaintiff was arrested and placed in tight handcuffs.  While Plaintiff was being taken to the precinct she complained about the tightness, at which point the officer driving stopped the car, removed the handcuffs, and recuffed Plaintiff even tighter.  Plaintiff was charged with drug possession despite none having been found during the illegal search.  All charges were dismissed on March 17, 2010.  \n\nOn June 8, 2011, Plaintiff was working at her mother’s hair salon when an NYPD officer entered to make an appointment.  Immediately thereafter narcotics officers entered the salon, began an illegal search, and ordered all of the customers to leave.  Officers provided a warrant for a different business.  When Plaintiff declined to raise her top and open her bra for a search, Defendant Officer Sharline Hannibal grabbed Plaintiff and threw her to the ground.  Plaintiff was beaten and arrested in view of her six-year-old daughter, then taken to a precinct.  Plaintiff was charged with possession of drugs and resisting arrest based on false statements by Defendants Hannibal and Derek Rivera.  After further false grand jury testimony by Defendant Officer Rivera, felony charges were brought.
