Mr. Bell stood up, said that he is getting off the train, and exited the train (the music stopped by itself while he was still on the train, as his phone began ringing at that moment). Defendant Kehoe followed Mr. Bell off the train and shouted \"Come here.\" Mr. Bell responded by asking why, since he had turned off the music, whereupon defendant Kehoe shoved him to the ground. Mr. Bell said \"you have no right to touch me\" and began walking away, whereupon defendant Kehoe shoved Mr. Bell into an emergency gate. Mr. Bell then walked away. Defendant Kehoe followed him and pushed him into a store. When Mr. Bell attempted to walk away, defendant Kehoe maced him, kicked him, and hit him with his nightstick. Defendant Kehoe also called for backup. Plaintiff Krystal Trujillo, who had arranged to meet Mr. Bell when he arrived, then arrived at the store. She asked what is going on, and she and Mr. Bell tried to walk away. The other defendant officers arrived at that point and tackled Mr. Bell and punched him and beat him with their nightsticks. One defendant officer shoved Ms. Trujillo and defendant Kehoe tackled her, at which point Ms. Trujillo exclaimed \"I'm pregnant.\" Both plaintiffs were arrested and brought to a police precinct. At the precinct, Ms. Trujillo had to be transported to a hospital due to abdominal bruising and contractions; at the hospital, she was kept handcuffed to the bed. EMTs advised the defendants that Mr. Bell needed stitches, but they refused to bring him to a medical facility. Mr. Bell was charged with a few crimes and Ms. Trujillo was charged with assaulting a police officer.
