Defendants detained, handcuffed, arrested and imprisoned Plaintiff and transported him to a police precinct. On or about August 18, 2016, Defendants caused to be initiated a criminal prosecution of Plaintiff, charging/ causing Plaintiff to be charged with various crimes including rape, kidnapping, assault, even though they knew that Plaintiff was innocent. On or about August 23, 2016, Defendants initiated a further criminal prosecution of Plaintiff, causing Plaintiff to be charged with additional crimes. Defendant NYPD Detective Ydressah Bey signed a deposition and Criminal Court Complaint making false accusations against Plaintiff that Bey knew was false. The defendants also knowingly withheld exculpatory evidence from Plaintiff and from the Office of the District Attorney. Plaintiff was incarcerated for 6 days. Plaintiff was required to make numerous court appearances and suffered deprivation of his liberty. On or about October 17, 2017, all criminal charges against Plaintiff were dismissed and the criminal proceeding terminated favorably to the Plaintiff.
