Akopov made insulting remarks about her appearance. The police officers transported her to the 68th Precinct where she was photographed, fingerprinted, and detained in a holding cell. After several hours, she was transported to from the 66th Prencinct to Kings County Central Booking and placed in a holding cell. The officers provided the DA's Office with false information that she had committed a crime, and on October 19, at approximately 6:00PM, Plaintiff was arraigned and charged with Promoting Prostitution in the Fourth Degree and other related charges. She was forced  to appear in court on 3 occasions, and all charges were favorably terminated on May 3, 2019. Due to the criminal case, she was unable to work in her job as an IT Healthcare Associate from October 18, 2018 until January 22, 2019 and lost approximately $15, 000 in wages. However, the plaintiff was not in possession of any controlled substance, weapon, or stolen property and did not commit any offense. Before his arrest, the Plaintiff was fixing a car with his friend and saw police officers enter a house about three buildings away. After arresting one guy inside the building, the officers approached the plaintiff and asked what was going on. After telling the officers he was fixing the car, the officer searched the Plaintiff and found nothing illegal. However, the superior officer instructed the officer to bring the plaintiff to the building where the raid took place. The defendants held the plaintiff and his friend on the steps of the house of the raid and tightly handcuffed them to perform a search of the plaintiff, resulting in finding no contraband on the plaintiff. When asked for the reason of his arrest, the officers claimed that the plaintiff had obstructed their entry into the premises and that they found the plaintiff in the backroom of the house where the raid took place with a backpack full of drugs.
