Despite this incident taking place during the COVID-19 pandemic, the officers mocked Ms. Wright for requesting that they wear masks while sitting in an enclosed environment with her. \n\nMs. Wright was held overnight until she was eventually released with a Desk Appearance Ticket. During her detention, Ms. Wright was searched three separate times by NYPD officers. Ms. Wright's case was ultimately dismissed by the Manhattan District Attorney's Office. All the officers continued to repeatedly punch plaintiff in the head and torso.  P.O. Rivera then kicked plaintiff multiple times in the ribs.  They handcuffed plaintiff extremely tightly, and ignored plaintiff's requests to loosen them.  Plaintiff was treated for extensive injuries in the hospital and then taken to Central Booking where he was charged with assault and resisting arrest.
