She had called her mother ahead of time to tell her she would be arriving. Plaintiff had been away for a few days which had caused her mother to worry. Plaintiff's mother had called and asked the police to intercept Plaintiff. when plaintiff was confronted by the police she began to yell at her mother, presumably over the phone, and one of the defendant police officers told her not to talk to her mother that way. Plaintiff then shouted a racial slur at the defendant police officer. Defendant police officer then attacked the plaintiff causing multiple injuries. Plaintiff was put in excessively tight handcuffs and taken to a hospital. Plaintiff was on at least two occasions questioned by the police without a parent or guardian present. Bell was waiting in the lobby for his friend when he was approached by P.O. Helin Marte and other unidentified P.O.s; they asked what bell was doing in the lobby. Marte placed Bell in handcuffs without verifying whether he was an invited guest or visitor. Bell was detained with no reason and then publicly searched; this illegal search yielded no contraband of any kind. Bell was then taken in a police van to the PSA-5 Precinct where he was criminally processed and searched again. Bell was taken to NYC Criminal Court where he was held until he was arraigned on false charges of Criminal Trespass in the Third Degree and loitering. \nAll charges were later dismissed.\n\nOn February 23, 2018, Bell went to 1760 Lexington Avenue to visit the same friend. while HE was waiting in the lobby, he was approached by P.O. Jaclyn Rodney. Rodney asked if bell knew anyone in the building, to which Bell replied he was waiting on a friend who lived there. Rodney placed Bell in handcuffs without verifying whether he was a legitimate visitor. He was again subject to an illegal search that found no contraband and falsely arrested and taken to the precinct.
