One officer approached the driver's side and asked Plaintiff Mr. Love for identification and registration, which he provided. The Officers did not check that information, but instead questioned Plaintiffs about alleged window tint on the vehicle. It was approximately 1:00 a.m. at the time. The Officers asked Mr. Love to step out of the vehicle and he complied. One Officer told Ms. Graves to \"get your black ass out of the car\" and dragged her out of the vehicle. The Officers then arrested the Plaintiffs, despite there being no reason for doing so. During the arrest, Ms. Graves' coat and shirt were removed by the Officers and one of them punched her in the face. Plaintiffs were then taken to the precinct and subsequently central booking. Defendant Officers falsely claimed that Plaintiffs were in criminal possession of a weapon. Plaintiffs were arraigned and charged on this falsification and were remanded to Rikers Island.
