First, the police charged into the bedroom where Tavar Chapman was sleeping. With their firearms drawn, the police grabbed Tavar from the bed, slammed him onto the floor causing Tavar's chin to strike the ground, and one officer subsequently put his foot on Tavar's back. The defendant officers twisted Tavar's arms behind his back and placed excessively tight handcuffs on his wrists. From the bedroom, the police removed Tavar to a police van and rushed at Anthony, who was sleeping on a couch in the living room, with their guns drawn. The police threw Anthony onto the floor and kneed him in the back while twisting his arms behind his back and applying excessively tight handcuffs. The defendant officers then charged into Rasheem's and Shaneiqua's bedroom with their guns drawn after placing Anthony in a police van. The officers rolled Rasheem over onto his stomach, pulled him off the bed, and made him face a wall. Meanwhile, officers threw Shaneiqua to the ground and kneed her in the back before they placed excessively tight handcuffs on both plaintiffs. Shaneiqua had to use the bathroom with the door open and change her clothes with a male officer present. Police then illegally searched Shaneiqua's cell-phone, searched the entire apartment, ransacking it and purposely damaging property. The police drove Tavar, Anthony and Rasheem to the 94th Precinct while they kept Shaneiqua outside of the apartment until they released her several hours later without any charges. At the precinct, the police illegally searched Tavar's cell-phone before releasing him several hours later without any charges. Anthony and Rasheem were removed to Brooklyn Central Booking for arraignment after many hours at the precinct. While waiting at Central Booking, the defendant officers falsely told the Kings County District Attorney's Office that the plaintiffs had committed various crimes, and the District Attorney started prosecutions against them.
