All charges were ultimately dismissed on March 27, 2020. The charges were based on false allegations by the defendants and plaintiff was maliciously prosecuted. Defendants alleged that plaintiff had been trespassing at the time. In fact, plaintiff had been accompanied at 61 Melrose Street by a friend, who was a resident of 61 Melrose Street. Plaintiff was handcuffed and taken to a nearby precint in a police van. At the precinct the defendants falsely informed employees of the Kings County District Attorney’s Office that plaintiff had been observed committing a crime. He was subsequently taken to central bookings.
