She opened the door and unexpectedly saw defendant police officers demanding to know what happened and alleging that they heard someone complained that plaintiff was pulling a knife on someone. Plaintiff said she had no idea what the officers are talking about, yet the officers kept pushing into the door and threatening her with a baton. After a short standoff plaintiff was handcuffed and arrested with no probable cause or warrant. During arraignment, she was falsely prosecuted with committing a crime, and all charges against her were soon terminated in her favor.
