Officers arrived at Plaintiff house, and Plaintiff refused to go outside or let them inside. Irritated, the Individual Defendants proceeded to enter through a neighbor's home, jump the fence, and break in through Plaintiff's kitchen. The officers had no lawful authority to enter the home - neither a warrant nor exigent circumstances existed at the time of entry. Several of the Individual Defendants entered the first floor of the home with their guns drawn and proceeded upstairs. Officers immediately placed Plaintiff under arrest. \n\nAt the same time, the remaining officers entered a second bedroom next to Plaintiff's, where the friends were hanging out. Plaintiff's dog was also in the second bedroom. Immediately after entering the second room, one or more of the individual Defendants shot and killed PLaintiff's dog without justification. Plaintiff, cuffed in the room next door, heard the shot and the dog's cries of pain. One of the officers, likely Officer Forman, told Plaintiff during transport back to the precinct that his dog attacked one of the officers, but this was a lie, or false information passed on from the officer who pulled the trigger. Upon information and belief, when the District Attorney's office watched the body-worn camera of the incident, prosecutors immediately dropped all charged against Plaintiff.","documents":[{"url":"https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nyed.515703/gov.uscourts.nyed.515703.1.0.pdf","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/68745414/carrion-v-the-city-of-new-york/"},{"name":"Meczkowska, Ewa, et al. vs Rodriguez, Eric, et al.","start_date":"2017-02-15","disposition_date":"2018-10-19","payout_amount":7500,"disposition":"Settlement","docket":"15CV04485","court":"U.S. District Court - Eastern District NY","officer_name":"Shane, Cory","summary":"On May 18, 2014, defendants showed up at plaintiff's apartment and ordered that she open the door.
