Description: On February 1, 2016, officer Casanovas and other entered the plaintiffs' home without permission. This the first of a series of misconduct targeting the Thomases. On February 11, 2016, more than ten police officers entered the home using Monique's (plaintiff) key and handcuffed the Thomases, subjected them to searches and intensive questioning despite not having a warrant. After Monique filed a complaint, the Thomases were harassed by the officers of the 121st precinct. On October 10, 2016, Malik (plaintiff) was falsely stopped and arrested in connection with an armed robbery in the neighborhood.
