Description: On July 7, 2013, Plaintiff had parked his car across his house. NYPD Police Officers James Haviland, Michael O'Donnell, and Michael Reinecke unlawfully stopped, harassed, and interrogated him. They made unprofessional remarks and were verbally abusive. When Plaintiff tried to record the event, the Police Officers grabbed the phone and threw it on the trunk. They also lightly shoved him, causing his documents to be scattered. Plaintiff filed a complaint with the Civilian Complaint Review Board, but was not advised to speak to a lawyer, thereby missing the 90 day deadline for state torts.

Description: On May 2, 2012, plaintiff, a superintendent of the multiple dwelling in which she resided, on Avenue M, in Brooklyn, in the course of a dispute with a tenant of the building over rent arrears, the tenant menaced plaintiff with a knife. Plaintiff had the tenant arrested. After the tenant's arrest, he and his family vacated the premises. In moving the belongings out of the apartment, the tenant had the assistance of four males.
