Description: On or about May 3, 2012, at the 81st Precinct in Brooklyn, Plaintiff Lori Poulson was falsely arrested without justification, resulting in severe emotional distress, by Defendant NYPD Detective Jean C. Louis. Days before the arrest, on April 20th, Plaintiff had been abused by Walter DeBerry, who was subsequently arrested and thereafter released the next day. On April 21st, DeBerry reported to cops that Plaintiff had taken his IPad. Defendant told Plaintiff to surrender herself to the 81st Precinct, misleading her to assume that he would simply write a desk appearance ticket which would mean she would not need to be imprisoned pending her arraignment.
