Description: On June 2, 2020, the Plaintiff, a public defender, was walking in Brooklyn when she witnessed a woman with a baby being arrested. The Plaintiff stated to the woman, "Excuse me Miss, do you need an attorney?" Defendant Lt. Khalil Binsafar told Plaintiff he would arrest her unless she left the area. Defendant Binsafar instructed police officers who were present to arrest Plaintiff but they declined and stepped away. Description: Plaintiff was being arrested for misdemeanors. He informed Defendant Officers that he suffered from a diabetic ulcer on his foot and requested medical attention. He also requested that due to his size he be double cuffed rather than single cuffed. Defendant Officers refused and when Plaintiff then denied medical attention, Defendant Officers stripped Plaintiff naked assaulted, battered and dragged him through the precinct. Description: On May 16, 2013, at approximately 11:52 p.m., plaintiff was lawfully in her home while her son and his father were arguing. Her son called the police, and when the police arrived, they arrested her son and escorted out of the apartment and into the building hallway. Plaintiff closed her apartment door. Shortly thereafter, a defendant officer kicked open plaintiff's front door, said that one of the other officers forgot a gun in the apartment, and then arrested plaintiff without any probable cause. She was taken to the precinct, placed in a holding cell, and falsely accused by defendants, including officer Polanco, of committing various crimes.
