Description: On July 1, 2011, Plaintiffs Avecedo and Santiago were walking by a fight that had broken out. Several NYPD Officers, including Defendant Officers Cruzbaez, Maxim, Chau, Schillinger, Izzo and Bistany, were on the scene and threw Plaintiff Acevedo to the ground, despite him having no affiliation to the fight. The officers hit Plaintiff Acevedo, breaking his glasses. One of the Defendants pepper-sprayed Plaintiff Santiago and threw him against a parked car. Both Plaintiffs were placed in handcuffs, and Defendants continued to strike Plaintiff Acevedo, who sustained injuries to his chest and face.
