Description: On June 29, 2019, at approximately 5:25 pm, Defendant Officers (Officers Efinger, Giardina, McKeefrey, Walter, McCarthy, John Doe, and Jane Doe) arrested Mr. Holloway without cause at or within the vicinity of 161-10 Jamaica Avenue, Jamaica. Prior to his arrest, Mr. Holloway was visiting his cousin, George Brown, at his place of business – Mr. Holloway was tightly handcuffed to the point he began experiencing pain and numbness and was also subjected to a search but found no stolen items, contraband, or unlawful items on him. Description: On February 8, 2013, when the Plaintiff was purchasing a MetroCard from a subway kiosk, police officer Michael McCarthy aggressively approached the plaintiff. The plaintiff tried to leave the station to avoid trouble, but Officer Michael McCarthy pursued and apprehended the plaintiff and called backup, including but not limited to officers Paul Bliss, Stephen Allocca, Alexander Gavilan, Kevin Short, Endora Shropshire, and John Toscano. A group of police officers brutally beat and tased the plaintiff once he was already restrained and compliant. As a result, the plaintiff suffered a broken nose, taser burns, and multiple lacerations requiring stitches.
