Complaint
Description: On December 10, 2010, NYPD Officer Lesly Thevenot unlawfully arrested the plaintiff outside plaintiff's home in Staten Island. Officer Thevenot grabbed, restrained, and handcuffed the plaintiff. The handcuffs were placed unreasonably tight—which injured the plaintiffs write hand, wrist, and arm—and Officer Thevenot ignored requests to loosen the handcuffs. Officer Thevenot then unlawfully detained the plaintiff in a police vehicle without probable cause. Officer Thevenot falsely issued the plaintiff a summons to appear for disorderly conduct, which was dismissed after an appearance on February 23, 2011.
