Description: On October 19, 2021, the plaintiff, Kamal Cheikhaoui, was shopping in a store when he was physically assaulted by a store security guard, who also took the plaintiff's property and had the store's staff call the police. (That same security guard had acted aggressively toward the plaintiff in that same store months prior.)
When the police arrived, defendants Officers Yelena Ast and Rawdi Ali and Lieutenant Nakwan Brathwaite did not allow the plaintiff to file a report against the security guard, possibly due to the fact that the security guard was a former NYPD officer.
