Description: On June 30, 2013, near West 10th Street and Pier 45, New York, NY, plaintiff was talking with friends after the NYC Gay Pride parade. An NYPD Detective approached plaintiff and informed her a friend of hers was having a verbal dispute with defendant Pou, and to approach the parties to diffuse the situation. Trying to calm the situation, plaintiff placed her hands on Pou and her friend in a peacemaking gesture, Another defendant officer at that moment, pounced on plaintiff, twisting her arm behind her back, grabbing her by the neck, and slamming her to the ground. Plaintiff was punched in the arm while on the ground. She was then lifted up, tightly handcuffed and taken to the 6th Precinct. She was there for an h...
