Description: On January 13, 2017 at around 4pm, Ms. Santos, a Latina, was inside her apartment in Richmond County when six NYPD officers accosted her and accused her of breaking her building super's window. She and her super had ongoing disputes over building maintenance, and the officers had reason to know that the super was not a reliable complaining witness. Further, officers refused to review surveillance footage that would have cleared up the situation, but instead arrested Ms. Santos and held her in custody for twenty hours.

Description: On June 3,2017, plaintiff lawfully received treatment at a methadone clinic and was prescribed two doses to take at home by the clinic. Plaintiff then entered a friend's car outside the clinic, which was immediately surrounded by officers. Plaintiff advised them that she had the liquid methadone and showed her id card which showed she was a patient of the clinic. Description: Plaintiff had just exited his residence at and was outside talking to some of his friends, when the defendant officers pulled up in a NYPD vehicle, exited their car and accosted one of defendant's friends. While the defendant officers were searching his friend, plaintiff asked if his friend was okay. Officers then asked for Plaintiff's ID, arrested him, brought him to the 71st precinct, and used excessive force the entire time. One officer then used a knife to slice Plaintiffs hand and paramedics came to the precinct and took him to the hospital. Plaintiff was charged with 120.05.03 Assault in the Second Degree, which was later ACD'd.
