Description: On February 2019, P.O.s Freddy Jones, Keerandai Bhawanideen-Jamna arrested plaintiff. P.O. Jones claimed he observed an individual exchanging small white, cigarette shaped items to other unapprehended individuals for US currency. Plaintiff had not engaged in any criminal conduct and was not the individual that P.O. Jones observed. The officers searched plaintiff and his belongings, including money he had, which was seized by the officers. Plaintiff was held for over 24 hours before being arraigned and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and other related charges. After several court appearances (one of which was a suppression hearing, in which the court found P.O. Jones not credible)...
