Description: On May 28, 2016, plaintiff was approached and arrested by a detective without a warrant while traveling by train. Plaintiff was taken to a precinct and charged with criminal possession of stolen property. The DA's office put the matter before the Grand Jury which issued an indictment. Eventually, the matter was dismissed for lack of evidence and the records were sealed. Plaintiff was incarcerated for 23 months.

Description: On January 17, 2014, at the Canal Street Subway Station, Defendant P.O. Meja accused plaintiff of tampering with MTA property. Plaintiff was transported to the precinct, where P.O. Meja did a warrant check. Despite not finding any warrants for plaintiff, P.O. Meja took plaintiff to the bathroom and asked to fingerprint him. Plaintiff asked to speak with a sergeant. P.O. Meja proceeded to push, wrestle, and kick plaintiff. Plaintiff’s requests for medical treatment were denied. Defendant P.O.s John/Jane Does #1-5 witnessed and failed to intervene in this misconduct.
