Plaintiff and his friend were being accused of having drugs and were handcuffed to the 73rd precinct. Due to the false statement by defendant Officer Sadowy, plaintiff was wrongfully convicted by the grand jury and was not able to make his bail. Plaintiff was then sent to Rikers while waiting for the trial but was kept in the solidary confinement. The case was dismissed later because it was determined that officer Sadowy was given a false statement.
