Description: On July 15, 2017, around 3:00 pm, Mr. Coney was informed by his place of employment, Bike Rental NYC, that police officers were asking about his motorized bicycle that was chained to a pole outside 712 7th Avenue. When he arrived at this location, several police officers were waiting for him. After conducting a search that showed Mr. Coney's license had been suspended, Officers Riordan, Abdalla, and John Doe 1 took Mr. Coney into custody for an alleged warrant that did not exist. Upon arriving at the precinct, Mr. Coney was criminally processed and strip-searched. The officers then provided the DA's office with false information about Mr. Coney that led to a criminal prosecution.
