Description: On January 25th, 2017, around 6:00a.m., the Plaintiffs were present at 23 New Lots Avenue, 6E in Brooklyn, New York. Police officers then broke down the door to the apartment, scaring the Plaintiffs and placing them in handcuffs before searching and ransacking their apartments over the next hour, leading to serious damages. No contraband was found. Despite this, Plaintiffs were arrested by the officers and were transported to the 73rd Precinct in Brooklyn. Description: As Plaintiff 1 was walking out of his residence, defendant officers pushed their way into his apartment. Defendant Officer Gillespie made homophobic comments, punched him, and handcuffed him on the ground. Plaintiff 1's mom, Plaintiff 2, came to the apartment and saw the officers searching he apartment without a warrant. Plaintiff 1 was left at the apt and Plaintiff 2 was arrested her, brought her to the 75th Precinct, and charged with 220.16 , 220.39, four counts of 220.03, 220.140 , 221.10, and 221.05.
