Description: On August 1, 2016, plaintiffs Kimberly Brower, Kaylin John, Tyra Robinson, and Ravenne Hinds were at or near 1533 York Avenue in Manhattan when they were assaulted and arrested by NYPD officer defendants including Officers Edgar Garcia, Benjamin Paley, Johnathan Simons, Paul Law, Alex Servia, and unidentified NYPD John Does. Plaintiff Kaylin John was assaulted and subjected to excessively tight handcuffs. Plaintiffs were released from police custody without being brought before a judge, and no criminal charges were brought against them.
