Description: Plaintiff was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over by defendant officers. Plaintiff was searched, arrested, and taken to the 75th Precinct where he was interrogated without his Miranda rights. Plaintiff's cellphone and luggage were taken and searched as well. He was released after 3 hours without any charges.

Description: On July 1, 2013, Plaintiff Gonzalo Cortes was unlawfully stopped, searched, arrested, transported to the 115th precinct of the NYPD by police, including one Officer Smith (unknown first name) and then was beaten when he asked to use the restroom, causing him a tear in his shoulder. Plaintiff alleges he was met with indifference with respect to his medical condition, and also that officers failed to intervene on his behalf.
