Description: The Plaintiff was in the hallway in the apartment building where he lived when he was unlawfully arrested, improperly searched and subjected to excessive force by defendants. The defendant officers choked the plaintiff, hit him with batons, was tightly handcuffed, and then taken to PSA 8, then to the 47th Precinct, and then to Bronx Central Booking. The officers made false statements resulting in the plaintiff having to come to court 5 times until the unspecified charges were dismissed.

Description: Plaintiff waived to officers as he entered a Rite Aid store to go shopping. Defendant officers then followed him into the store, asked him for his ID, searched him, and made him leave the store. Officers then falsely claimed there was a warrant for his arrest, repeatedly searched him, and then handcuffed him and brought him to PSA 8 where he was charged with Jaywalking. The charge was dismissed at a bench trial where the judge found Defendant Officer Edmond's testimony to be incredible.

Description: On April 9, 2014, Defendant Officers Edmonds, Armstead, and several unnamed Officers chased Plaintiff after allegedly observing Plaintiff in possession of a firearm. When Defendants made contact with Plaintiff they slammed him to the ground smashing his face into the floor, twisting his leg, and stomping on his left ankle. Prior to the beating one of the Defendants told Plaintiff, "I'm going to break your fucking legs for running." As a result of the encounter Plaintiff suffered a torn patellar tendon (which required surgery), bruising, abrasions and swelling. While in detention at a facility in the Bronx, Plaintiff, for over 12 hours, was denied medical care, a bathroom, food and water.

Description: On August 13, 2012, Plaintiff was riding his bike home in Brooklyn when a Defendant Officer approached, ordered him off his bike and told him to put his hands up. Plaintiff complied and Defendant searched him.
