Description: On July 12, 2020 at a Blue Lives Matter march, where counter-protestors, including Plaintiff were present, members of the NYPD, including the defendants, blocked paths of egress, surround counter-protestors, and force them close together on the sidewalk. Defendant NYPD Sergeant Yuriy Akopov approached Plaintiff and ordered her to move from where she was standing on the sidewalk, but Plaintiff was unable to do so, as members of the NYPD had surrounded and kettled the counter-protestors. Description: On October 18, 2018 at approximately 7:00 PM, Mirtha Mayol was inside of an apartment at 373 96th Street, Apt B4, Brooklyn, New York when police officers, including Sergeant Yuriy Akopov, NYPD UC #157, Konstant Brandman, and John Does #1-10, handcuffed and arrested her without probably cause. Akopov made insulting remarks about her appearance. The police officers transported her to the 68th Precinct where she was photographed, fingerprinted, and detained in a holding cell. After several hours, she was transported to from the 66th Prencinct to Kings County Central Booking and placed in a holding cell.
