Officers Scott Smith, Diego Jimenez, Enver Lopez, and John Doe banged on the door and attempted to enter the apartment without a warrant and without identifying themselves as police officers. The Plaintiff leaned on the door to prevent them entering the apartment to protect the children inside. Description: Plaintiffs were at an Independence Day block party and had recently graduated from high school. The two women were approached by police officers and were told to shut down the party. As they were collecting their belongings, NYPD helicopters and sirens surrounded the scene.
