Description: On September 16, 2017 at approximately 5:00 AM at 1221 Sheridan Avenue, Apartment 1A, Bronx NY, Crystal Portorreal was preparing for work after babysitting her aunt's children. Officers Scott Smith, Diego Jimenez, Enver Lopez, and John Doe banged on the door and attempted to enter the apartment without a warrant and without identifying themselves as police officers. The Plaintiff leaned on the door to prevent them entering the apartment to protect the children inside. The officers entered by force, throwing her to the ground and causing injuries to her wrists and feet. They then handcuffed and arrested her.
