Description: On November 10, 2022, in the vicinity of 545 East 137th Street in Bronx County, Defendant police officer John Manzo approached, searched, handcuffed, and arrested Plaintiff. Plaintiff was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and related charges. The case was ultimately terminated in Plaintiff's favor on march 28, 2023.

Description: On June 3, 2017, Plaintiff was assaulted by officers Lucero, Manzo, Matthaus, Reyes, Nomani, and certain unnamed officers while he was parked near a fire hydrant. The officers forcibly pulled Plaintiff from his vehicle to the ground for no reason. At no point did the officers identify themselves as officers, nor did they ever observe Plaintiff committing a crime. The officers continued to assault Plaintiff while he was on the ground, claiming that he was driving while intoxicated despite having no cause or suspicion that this is true.

Description: On or about June 28, 2019, Joey Hernandez was approached by NYPD officers, including Officer John Manzo, near the intersection of East 153rd Street and Melrose Avenue in the Bronx. Hernandez alleges that he was not involved in any illegal activity when he was stopped, searched, and detained by the officers without probable cause or legal justification. During the arrest, excessive force was used, including tight handcuffing and aggressive physical restraint. While in custody, he was strip-searched and detained for over 24 hours. Hernandez was falsely charged with a crime, but the charges were ultimately dismissed. As a result of the incident, he claims to have suffered physical injuries and emotional distress.
