Description: On July 3, 2019, Plaintiff Shakira Leslie was traveling in the back seat of her friend's car when it was pulled over by Defendant NYPD officers. Plaintiff and others in the car were ordered out of the car to be searched. Despite that no contraband was found on Plaintiff during the search, she was arrested and brought to the precinct for questioning. She was charged with possessing the weapon found in the possession of the front seat passenger. Plaintiff was deprived of food and water for over 12 hours before interrogation.
