Description: On February 26, 2024, in Manhattan, Plaintiff Khari Scarborough called 911 after his girlfriend damaged his belongings and falsely claimed ownership. Defendants NYPD Officers Pimentel, Oliveira, Clarke, and others arrived, spoke with the girlfriend, and ordered Scarborough into the apartment upon seeing a toy gun replica. He was falsely arrested, searched, and handcuffed without explanation. Officers unlawfully searched his bookbag containing $5,000 from a lawsuit settlement, taking the cash and receipts. Scarborough was detained for an hour, taken to the 7th Precinct, and held from noon until 7:00 pm, before being released with a Desk Appearance Ticket for March 17, 2024.
