Description: On June 27, 2023, in Staten Island, Plaintiff ANTHONY MITCHELL was at home when NYPD Officers, including CASEY ENGLEHARDT and John or Jane Doe 1-10, told him to come to the precinct without explanation. They detained, searched, and arrested him without probable cause or a warrant. Defendants filed false criminal charges against him. Mitchell was held for about five hours until released. The charges were dismissed on October 24, 2023. Mitchell claims he was targeted due to racial bias against Black or African American males.
