Description: On February 7, 2018, the Plaintiff was arrested by the NYPD Defendants P.O. Katherine Paez and five unnamed officers for a misdemeanor related to a September 2017 family dispute. The Plaintiff was 40 weeks pregnant and visibly so - her baby's due date was February 9. Officer Paez noted that the Plaintiff was nine months pregnant in her arrest log. For the entirety of the proceeding 30 hours of her detention, the Plaintiff was shackled using a combination of metal handcuffs at her wrists and ankles. At no point did the Plaintiff present as a threat to herself or others, or as a flight risk. She was not offered food or water between 10:40AM and 7:40PM while she was held in a cell at the Precinct.
