Description: On May 30, 2020, plaintiff Christophe Bensmaine was running errands when he noticed a police brutality protest in the wake of the George Floyd murder and decided to join. The demonstration was orderly and calm, however more police started to arrive to the protest and by 5:25 PM there were fifty police officers including all named defendants, Inspector Dowling, Deputy Inspector Hillery, PO Cascio, PO Cirikiovich, PO Dottavio, PO Johnson, PO Monestine, PO Mosquera, PO Olivares, and PO Singh. Description: On March 11, 2014, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Plaintiff was lawfully present in the vicinity of East 95th and Clarkson Avenue in Brooklyn when two individuals approached him and shot him. Plaintiff was shot in his right arm, lower back, and through the backs of both of his legs. A bystander whom Plaintiff did not know helped Plaintiff and called an ambulance for him. Shortly thereafter, an ambulance and police vehicles arrived at the scene. Plaintiff was placed on a stretcher, loaded into an ambulance, and transported to Kings Hospital for treatment.
